Investigation after armed robbery in Morrisons in Crewe
Staff were threatened by a man armed with a bat
An investigation is underway after staff in a shop in Crewe were threatened by a man armed with a wooden bat.
Police were called at 9.09pm on Monday 26 February, to reports of an armed robbery at a convivence store on West street.
The caller reported that a man went into the Morrisons Daily store with a wooden bat, threatened staff and demanded cash from a till before running away.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers say they're keen to hear from anyone with any information that may aid the investigation.
Detective Inspector Mills said the investigation is in its early stages:
“We are doing all we can to identify those responsible.
“As part of our investigation I’m keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and believes that they may have seen anything suspicious.
“I’d also ask residents in the area to check their CCTV or video doorbell footage to see if they have anything which may aid our investigation.
“The same goes for any motorists with any dashcam footage.”
