Stoke-on-Trent community 'concerned' after group with chainsaw steal cash machine

Police are investigating after a cash machine was stolen by a group of men with a chainsaw in Stoke-in-Trent.
Officers were called to Wimbourne Avenue, Stoke-on-Trent, at 1.20am this morning (Thursday 28 April) following reports of a robbery.
Witnesses reported spotting a white Ford Transit and white Volkswagen Golf parked outside a business premises.
About four or five men were seen coming out the vehicles, all wearing dark clothing.
A chainsaw and various tools were used to gain entry to the business.
A chain was then attached to the cash machine before the gang pulled the machine off the wall using the van.
The offenders then lifted the machine into the Volkswagen Golf and left the scene the direction of Trentham Road.
Detective Inspector Scott McGrath of Staffordshire Police, said: “This was a brazen burglary that not only caused significant damage and losses to the business but has also understandably caused concern in the local area.
“I would like to reassure the community that we are doing all we can to identify the offenders involved and are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened.”
