Further man arrested in connection with house fire in Bentilee

A 13-year-old girl is still fighting for her life in hospital

A further man has been arrested in connection with a house fire in Bentilee.

Officers were called to a property on Beverley Drive, at about 10.55pm on Thursday (16 December).

A 31-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl remain in critical but stable condition in hospital following the fire.

A 28-year-old man, from the Stoke-on-Trent area, was arrested on Monday (20 December) on suspicion of wounding with intent.

He has since been released on conditional police bail.

Two other men, aged 21 and 22, from the Stoke-on-Trent area, previously arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, have also been released on conditional police bail while inquiries continue.
