Former PM visits Stoke
Boris Johnson accompanied local MP Jonathan Gullis
Former Prime Minister said "it was great to be back in Stoke" on a low-key visit to the city.
Mr Johnson was greeted by local Conservative Party members at June’s Kitchen, Norton.
Following this, he visited businesses on Knypersley Road, Norton, including the Dougie Mac charity shop and Norton Pharmacy.
Then it was off to High Lane Oatcakes in Chell where Mr Johnson tried his hand at making a Staffordshire oatcake.
Boris Johnson said of the visit:
“It was great to be back in Stoke today and meet so many people who welcome the government’s investment in their local area. £56 million committed from the Levelling Up Fund which will see the restoration of Tunstall Library and Baths and the reopening of Tunstall Town Hall bringing a much needed boost for the local economy. Businesses like High Lane Oatcakes need a thriving community and with the support of Jonathan and his local Conservative team they will continue to champion and deliver for Stoke.”
