Two arrested after man has car stolen and is threatened with knife in Fenton

The pair, including a teenager, were detained following a police chase

Two men have been arrested after a car was stolen from Fenton.

Police were called to Beville Street, Fenton, to reports that a black Toyota Avensis had been stolen at approximately 10.30pm on Wednesday (28 September). A man had his car keys taken from him after he was threatened with a knife.

Officers, from the force’s armed response and dog support team, located and stopped the vehicle in Bentilee at approximately 2.30am.

Following a foot chase, two men were arrested close by.

An 18-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking, breaching a criminal behaviour order, driving whilst disqualified, possession of cannabis and robbery.

A 22-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Both men have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
