Cyclist seriously injured after being hit by car in Stoke-on-Trent

Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage is being asked to come forward

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Lightwood, Stoke-on-Trent yesterday afternoon.

Officers were called at 2.50pm yesterday (Tuesday 6 July) to reports of a collision involving a cyclist and a blue Volkswagen car on Lightwood Road, near to Farmer Street.

The cyclist, a man in his 40s, was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital with serious head injuries. He remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The driver of the Volkswagen was uninjured.

Witnesses who may have seen the cycle and the car before the collision or anyone with relevant dashcam footage is being urged to message Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter quoting incident number 419 of 6 July or call 101.
