Man arrested after cyclist hit by car in Stoke-on-Trent

Police are investigating a non-stop collision in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police were called at 9.30pm last night (6 August) to a collision between a car and a cyclist on King Street, near The Potter, in Fenton.

The cyclist suffered facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The car involved in the collision is described by witnesses as a small silver car, possibly a Toyota Yaris.

A 56-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop after a road traffic collision. He remains in custody.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "Anyone who saw the collision, or who may have dash cam footage which can help with the investigation, is asked to message Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter quoting incident number 716 of 6 August, call 101 or alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
