A child has died after falling ill at a popular music festival being held at Weston Park.

Organisers of Camp Bestival said the child became unwell on Friday night and passed away in hospital some time after.

A spokesperson said: "After receiving immediate medical care onsite, the child was taken to hospital in an ambulance, where they tragically passed away.

"Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the family at this terrible time, and we will continue to support them in any way we can."

Camp Bestival was held at Weston Park, near Shifnal, from August 17-20, with Rudimental and Sophie Ellis-Bextor among those performing.

Police looking into the circumstances
