Man hospitalised after attempted knifepoint robbery in Stoke-on-Trent
The victim was walking his grandparents' dog in broad daylight when it happened
Police are appealing for information after an attempted robbery took place in a park at knifepoint.
Officers were called at 10.43am on Sunday (15 August) to Longton Park on Trentham Road, Stoke-on-Trent.
Police attended and the victim, who was walking his grandparents’ dog, described how he was grabbed from behind by one offender at about 9.15am, while another cut his cheek with a knife while demanding his wallet.
The victim was able to kick and punch the offenders and ran away with the dog.
The offender who grabbed the victim is described as aged about 20, of stocky build, about 6ft in height, wearing a dark grey hooded jacket and jogging bottoms.
The offender who produced the knife is described as Asian, aged about 20 years old, of average build, 5ft 10 inches in height wearing a black Adidas jacket.
The knife was a flip knife with a 2.5 inch blade.
The victim sustained a number of superficial slashes to the face in the incident and was treated at hospital.
Officers are currently reviewing CCTV footage of the area at the time and are appealing to anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.
