Alex Neil named the new Stoke City boss

The Scotsman has left fellow Championship side Sunderland to take the role.

Alex Neil has been confirmed as the new boss of Stoke City. He's agreed a 3-year deal with the club.

The 41 year old who helped lead Sunderland back to the Championship last season joins the Potters who are currently 17th in the Championship table.

He previously managed the likes of Norwich City, where he led them to the Premier League in 2015.

The appointment was welcomed prior to being announced by ex forward Jonathan Walters

His first game in charge is set to be against Swansea City on Wednesday.
