84-year-old man arrested by police after Sandbach assault
It's as another man was taken to the Royal Stoke Hospital with critical injuries
Officers say they were called to reports of that a man had been found with serious head injuries at an address on Cecil Rugby Close, Sandbach around 10.30am yesterday, Monday 20 February.
On attending the scene they found that a 60-year-old local man had been assaulted. He was taken to the Royal Stoke Hospital where his condition is currently described as critical.Â
An 84-year-old local man has since been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in relation to the incident; he is currently being held in police custody.Â
Detective Inspector Nigel Reid, of Cheshire Constabulary’s Major Investigations Team, said:
“I’d like to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated. A local man has already been arrested and he is currently assisting us with our enquiries.”
