A seven-year old girl from Cheshire is set to walk 46 miles to raise money for homeless and vulnerable people across the county.
Darcey Walklate, who is from Holmes-Chapel, is putting one foot in front of the other until the end of March, to raise money for the charity CHANCE Changing Lives, which helps people in Crewe and Nantwich.
"I'm walking 46 miles for charity because I enjoy it" said Darcey.
The charitable venture was Darcey's own idea, after she had been watching the news and learned about how cold homeless people had been in the recent weather.
"I think about people a lot. I think about the homeless and people who haven't got anything" said Darcey.
Mum Natasha will be by Darcey's side throughout and they'll be walking and running every day around Holmes Chapel.
"Me, her Dad and her brothers are just so so proud of her, and think what she's doing is amazing" said Natasha.
"She’s doing absolutely amazing! Her brothers Max and Jack came along too which she loved."
Darcey had originally set a target of £100, but within a few hours of her page going live - she had already achieved it. After just a few days and lots of steps, she is now on almost £800 - and counting.
"I want to get over a thousand!" said Darcey. "If you can please donate, I want to help people. Thank-you".
