Wallace and Gromit bench has been revealed (and there's a secret Preston mention!)

A bronze sculpture of Wallace & Gromit has been unveiled in Preston this morning, the home city of their creator Nick Park.

Based onThe Wrong Trousers, the bench sculpture is outside Preston Markets, close to the entrance on Orchard Street.

This is the moment the bench was finally revealed by Nick Park and Mayor of Preston, Councillor Javed Iqbal.

Preston City Council backed the bench project alongside Aardman, the Bristol-based studio behind the hugely successful Wallace & Gromit film franchise

The creator of Wallace and Gromit told our reporter Jamie Williamson that he was incredibly proud of the sculpture in his home town and that he hopes it creates excitement about Preston:

The bench is one of five ‘Pop-Up’ projects being delivered through £1million of initial funding Preston received from the government’s national Towns Fund.
