Teenager left with serious injuries after crash in Blackpool

A teenager has been left with serious injuries after a crash in Blackpool this week,

Officers were called to St Anne's Road at 4.50pm on Monday (June 7) to reports that a motorcyclist has collided with a car while trying to overtake a vehicle.

The 19-year-old suffered a number of broken bones and was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the car was not injured and no one has been arrested.

Police are now appealing for video or dash cam footage of the incident.

The teenager was riding a Yamaha R125 and collided with a Toyota Carola.

The road was closed for four hours while investigation work was carried out. It has since re-opened.

Sgt Andrew Hemingway, of West Tactical Operations, said: “This collision has left a man seriously injured and my thoughts are with him and his loved ones at this time.

“We now need to establish the full circumstances of the collision and I would ask anybody with information or anybody with dashcam or CCTV footage which could assist our enquiries to get in contact with the police as soon as possible.”
