Rossendale teen admits hoax bomb threats in hotels across the country

A teenager from Rossendale has pleaded guilty to three counts of falsely communicating the presence of bombs at a string of hotels.
Marco Gill also admitted harassing a man by sending 48 unpaid for takeaways to his home address between November 2022 and April 2023 and sending a malicious communication to the BBC on April 3, falsely alleging a man was trapped in a room where there was a gas leak, causing the recipient anxiety and distress.
The 19-year-old appeared at the Old Bailey via video link from HMP Preston on Friday to plead guilty to the five offences.
According to the charges, Gill told three different people, across two dates in April, false information "with the intention of inducing... a false belief that a bomb liable to explode or ignite was present" at The Atrium Hotel, near Heathrow; The Holiday Inn Express, Rotherham; and Best Western Hotel Plus, Nottingham.
He will be sentenced at Preston Crown Court on April 26 next year.
