A Preston charity's calling for ALL nightclubs to have drug testers so people know what they're taking.

It's after Blackpool Police warned a batch of 'high purity ecstasy' is going round the resort after two men were taken to hospital last week.

A 21-year-old also died on a night out in London over the weekend and two others were hospitalised.

Ian Edmondson, Director of Tribal Project in Preston said they've found cocaine with over 90% purity on the city's streets: "We always say to people who want to use, and there are always people that will use drugs, we always say know your dose. If you get a tablet, test it first, just check what it is you're going to take before you take it and do it in a safe manner.

"If we look at cocaine pre-2015, the strengths you were seeing in the North West were about 20-25% pure, now we've tested and the highest we've hit in Preston is 92% pure for cocaine...so you're changing lager into vodka but you're getting exactly the same amount out.

"The sad thing is people will buy a tablet in a club and take the whole tablet. What we need is people who will test the drug that you have bought in the arena that you have bought it in.

"And why don't we make it acceptable for people to take 10 minutes out of their night to go to...it could be a bus parked up in town that's staffed by clinical staff who can say right give us five minutes we will test your tablet, this is how strong your tablet is, and then you can work out your dose from there."
