Lancashire Police are continuing to search for a missing Skelmersdale Pensioner, exactly a week after he went missing.

77-year-old Brian Blakeman, who has dementia, was last seen by his partner at his home address on the morning of Tuesday 5th December. He then set out for a walk and has not been seen or heard from since.

Brian is known to have been wearing a blue Everton fleece with a small zip on the left hand side and a blue embroidered Everton logo, blue jeans and black and white Lacoste trainers.

Hundreds of officers have been involved in the search so far, which has included house to house inquiries, drones, helicopters and under water search teams.

Inspector John Bent is the geographic lead for West Lancashire: "This is a very rural area and he could have gone in multiple directions. The weather has been quite severe and certainly the ground underfoot is heavy with water. It's difficult terrain and my officers are searching through that. We've been all around the West Lancashire area and many areas of Skelmersdale that are less well travelled, like the sides of roads, ditches, Beacon Country Park and Tawd Valley - we're systematically searching and looking for clues and Brian."

"CCTV has been able to tell us an awful lot about where he hasn't been but where he lives takes you very quickly into very rural areas where there is a lack of CCTV coverage. This is why we want to appeal to the public again, to look and be vigilant when they're out and about to see if they can see any clues, any clothing, or sightings of Brian in the area."
