Two arrested after men armed with samurai sword and spade spotted in Chorley
Police patrols have been stepped up in the area.
Two arrests have been made after police spotted two men armed with a spade and samurai sword in Chorley.
Officers were initially called at about 6.45am to a report of a car fire in Ward Street where damage had spread to a nearby address.
Following police enquiries two men were seen on Devonport Way, one armed with a spade and the other with what was believed to be a samurai sword.
Two men were subsequently arrested and are currently in custody.
In a statement, Chorley Police said: "There will continue to be extra patrols in the area through the day and anyone with information or concerns should approach an officer.
"Many thanks to everyone for their co-operation and understanding while we dealt with the incidents."
