Manhunt underway after three people seriously injured in Blackpool crash
A manhunt is underway after three people were seriously injured in a crash in Blackpool.
Officers were called around 8pm yesterday after reports of an accident in Garstang Road West.
A BMW M4 car had collided with a Skoda Citigo, mounting a grass verge before a further collision with a metal fence.
Two men made off the BMW, with a 25-year-old woman, a passenger in the vehicle, remaining at the scene having suffered a leg injury. She was later taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Skoda, a 57-year-old woman from Poulton and a passenger in the car, a 55-year-old woman from Blackpool, were injured, each suffering a broken wrist. Both were taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment.
The road was closed for more than six hours while accident investigators attended the scene.
Police are appealing for information following the collision.
Sgt Oliver Jones, of Lancashire Police, said: “An investigation is underway following a serious collision in Blackpool.
“We are currently looking for two men who made off from the scene.
“If you have any information, or know where they are, please contact us immediately.
“Furthermore, if you saw the collision and have yet to speak to police, please call.”
