Police in Wigan are continuing to appeal for information after a man was shot in the leg in the borough last weekend (Saturday 19th June).

The 34-year-old victim remains in hospital in a critical condition and with life-changing injuries.

Police say an investigation is ongoing and a number of lines of enquiry have been followed up. No arrests have been made.

Now police are urging anyone who was nearby or may have been visiting the area to get in touch.

Detective Inspector John Davies, from GMP's Wigan district, said: "Enquiries are at a relatively early stage of the investigation however, it is believed that this is a targeted incident at this time.

"As we piece together information that will help bring those responsible to justice, I would urge anyone who lives or was visiting the area on the afternoon of Saturday 19 June, and has any CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage of the incident which may have happened on Ridyard Street prior to the shooting, to contact us.
