Man dies following M65 crash
20 year old pedestrian died in hospital the day after the accident near Burnley
A man has died after being involved in a road traffic collision on the M65 at Burnley.
Lancashire Police were called at 1.20am on Monday (May 22), to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a Dacia Sandero car in the westbound carriageway of the motorway between junctions nine and 10.
The pedestrian, a 20-year-old man from Burnley, suffered serious head and leg injuries and was taken to hospital.
Sadly, he was pronounced deceased yesterday afternoon (May 23). Our thoughts are with his family at this very sad and difficult time.
A file will be passed to HM Coroner in due course.
