Man dies after crashing into parked car in Poulton-Le-Fylde

It happened on Blackpool Road in the early hours

A man has died after crashing into a parked car in Poulton-Le-Fylde.

Emergency crews were called to Blackpool road at just after midnight, after receiving a report that a Corsa had collided with a Range Rover Evoque.

A man in his 30s was rushed to hospital for treatment. He passed away a short time later.

The road has been closed for several hours today whilst police investigate the incident.

In a statement Lancashire Police said: "At 12:15am, our officers attended a road traffic collision on Blackpool Road between the junctions of Alisan Road and Moorfield Avenue where they discovered a red Vauxhall Corsa that had collided with a parked Range Rover Evoque.

"Very sadly, the driver of the Vauxhall Corsa, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital and later pronounced dead. Our thoughts are very much with the man’s loved ones at this incredibly sad and distressing time.

"We are now appealing to witnesses of this collision, or to anyone who has any dashcam or CCTV footage from Blackpool Road or the surrounding areas around the time of the incident to please get in contact."
