One person taken to hospital after M6 crash in Lancashire

Firefighters had to rescue the person from the vehicle

One person has been taken to hospital following a crash involving two vehicles on the M6 in Lancashire.

Emergency services were called to the northbound side between Junction 30 and 31, near Preston just after 6pm last night.

The person had to be released from the car by firefighters.

The motorway reopened to traffic around an hour later.

A Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: "At 18:05 on 19th November, three fire engines from Bamber Bridge and Preston attended a road traffic collision on the M6 Northbound motorway, between J30 and J31. The incident involved two vehicles.

"Firefighters released one casualty from their vehicle, who was then conveyed to the hospital by an ambulance. Crews were in attendance for one hour."
