Firefighters tackle large blaze at business in Lytham St Annes

Firefighters are tackling a large blaze at a commercial premises in Lytham St Annes.

Emergency services were called to an address on Boundary Road in the early hours of this morning.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue say six fire engines were dispatched, and have been using reel jets and breathing apparatus as they look to get it under control.

In an update, they said: "At 02:34 on the 6th February 2024, six fire engines from St Annes, Wesham, South Shore and Blackpool are in attendance at an incident on Boundary Road, Lytham St Annes.

"Firefighters are wearing breathing apparatus and are using three hose reel jets, a hose reel, a ground monitor and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Crews remain in attendance at this time."

Crews are still on scene as of 9am, where they are monitoring the blaze and using heat sensors to monitor.

Drivers are being advised to avoid the area.
