Elderly cyclist from Lancashire dies in collision

An 80-year-old man from Lancashire has died in a collision on the A590 in Cumbria.

Police say yesterday's collision (4th August) involved a cyclist and a van. They were called to the scene at around 12pm.

The driver, a man in his 20s, was uninjured.

The cyclist died at the scene which was near the junction leading to Bridge End Garage and the A5074 yesterday (4th August).

Officers are appealing for anyone with dashcam footage or who witnessed the incident to contact police.
