It's almost exactly 10 years to the day since a teenage boy from Chorley drowned and a petition in his memory has now reached over 100,000 signatures.

13-year-old Dylan Ramsay died after getting into difficulty while swimming at a local quarry in 2011.

This Saturday will mark the milestone anniversary.

His mum Becky has been fighting to get water safety on the national curriculum ever since which MPs will now officially debate in Parliament.

Becky said she's incredibly proud of the legacy Dylan's left behind: "I always knew from him being a little little baby, he was going to be somebody special. He always reached milestones early and I always knew that he was going to be a little heartbreaker...I just didn't know that it was going to be my heart that were broken...and I didn't know that this is the way that he was going to impact the world.

"I can't even put it into words...he is literally my hero. Without even knowing it he's saved so many lives, his story has resonated with so many people.

"I don't get to see my son grown up. I don't want people's sympathy, I've never wanted sympathy off people, I want to see change, I want to see less people die.

"I know they say things happen for a reason and I can never really agree with that because I don't agree that your child should go before you, but I can't help but also think that Dylan leaving us has made a huge impact on the world.

"I feel like I'm a little bit stronger now because we've got 100,000 plus people standing right next to me, side-by-side wanting the same as what I want, fighting the same cause...I can't put into words how crazy it is."
