18 year old badly injured in St Helens crash
Emergency services were called to the junction of Corporation Street and Parr Street last night
An 18 year old's in a critical condition after he was hit by a bus in St Helens late last night.
Emergency services were called to the junction of Corporation Street and Parr Street just after 11pm.
He was rushed to hospital where he's continuing to receive treatment.
Merseyside Police have started an investigation.
They say the bus driver's helping with their enquiries - but they're keen to find more information.
The road was closed for a number of hours but has since reopened.
Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson from the Force’s Matrix Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts are very much with the man’s family as they wait for news on his condition, and they are being supported by specially trained Family Liaison Officers.
“Meanwhile, we have launched an investigation to understand the circumstances of what happened.
"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of this collision, who may have seen the incident or events leading up to the collision to please contact with us.
“In addition we appeal to anyone with dashcam, or who lives locally with CCTV or smart doorbell footage to get in touch. Every piece information is vitally important to our investigation to establish what happened.”
