10 Things You Need To Know About Ladies Day
Last updated 13th Mar 2024
1. When and where
Ladies Day takes place on Friday 12 April, as part of the Randox Grand National at Aintree Racecourse.
2. What time should I arrive?
Gates open at 10.30am and we'd recommend getting to Aintree earlier rather than later. The first race begins at 1.45pm.
3. What's the dress code?
Although it's viewed as one of the most glamorous days of the year, you might be surprised to know there isn't actually an official dress code for Ladies Day - or any of the other Grand National events.
Instead, the team at Aintree encourage racegoers to 'dress to feel your best' with many visitors using the event to showcase their favourite outfits.
4. What are The Style Awards?
The Style Awards at Ladies Day celebrate some of the best outfits of the event - with some amazing prizes up for grabs (think holidays, shopping vouchers, and charity donations).
Find out more about the 2024 Style Awards here.
5. Can fellas come too?
Of course! Although it's called 'Ladies Day' everyone's welcome.
6. What about kids?
Children can come to Ladies Day but are capped to 200 per event. Children pay full price tickets to all Grand National Events and are limited to two per adult ticket.
7. What's on offer in terms of food and drink?
There are loads of options available to you on the day, so you don't need to worry about going hungry (or thirsty!)
Please be aware that food and drink cannot be brought into the venue from outside - any picnics must be consumed in the car parking areas.
8. Can you use cash?
The racecourse is fully cashless, including food and drink concessions. However, you can use cash to place bets with on-course bookmakers.
9. Is there anywhere to sit down?
There's limited seating available around the racecourse but if you want to be seated for the whole day we recommend purchasing a seat for viewing in advance in one of the grandstands or in the West Tip Seats.
Please be aware that portable seating is not permitted (i.e. you can't sneak in your own picnic chairs!)
10. Is there a Grand National app?
Yes! The Jockey Club app will help you make the most of your day at the races.
You can keep your tickets handy, view the latest live odds in your own digital race card, and enter exclusive competitions.
