Rita Ora To Replace Kylie Minogue on The Voice
She's "excited" to be joining the judging panel
Rita Ora has been revealed as Kylie Minogue’s replacement judge on BBC talent show The Voice.
The ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ singer joins will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones, who are back for a fourth series, plus Kaiser Chiefs star Ricky Wilson in his second year.
Rita told her 3.86million Twitter followers this afternoon: "So excited to be part of; and for my team to win The Voice this series!!"
She added:
Rita’s fellow judge will.i.am said: "Sir Tom Jones is our rock, Ricky is awesome and it's our pleasure to welcome the very talented Rita Ora. Rita is sweet, spicy and sassy - she's going to be a great addition to the Coaches team."
Moira Ross, The Voice UK's executive producer, added: "The Voice has gone from strength to strength with each passing year and series four promises to be bigger than ever."
Although it has consistently been a ratings success, all three previous winners of The Voice have failed to achieve any notable commercial success.
Winner of the first series, Leanne Mitchell, only peaked at number 134 with her self-titled debut album. She was dropped by Island Records in 2014 and earlier this month returned to her old job as a holiday camp crooner.
Series two winner Andrew Begley fared better with her debut album ‘The Message’, which peaked at number seven but soon dropped out of the chart.
2014 winner, 18-year-old Jermain Jackman, is currently recording his debut album “with some very special guests.”
The Voice returns to BBC One in January 2015.
