Two horses have been saved from drowning in rising tides near Fleetwood.
They got stuck in mud as they were being ridden on a beach by the slipway near Quail Holme Road in Knott End on Sunday.
HM Coastguard Fleetwood has shared on it's facebook page that the rider of one of the horses has thanked them for the rescue. Here's the post:
'2 horses and riders home safe and sound thanks to HM coastguard fleetwood, fleetwood life boat service, Knott-end Coast guards and Lancashire fire and rescue. What an incredible bunch of people you all are-I can't thank you enough for what you did for us today! I dread to think what could have happened if it wasn't for your services-many years of horse riding means nothing agai...nst Mother Nature. Thanks again- those horses mean the world to me and I am eternally grateful. Love Lauren, Kirsten Louise, Ernie and Meg x'
HM Coastguard Fleetwood says that without swift action, the horses wouldn't have made it.
