Tributes have been paid to a man from Lancashire, who has died in a climbing accident in Scotland.

Tributes have been paid to a man from Lancashire, who has died in a climbing accident in Scotland.

Mark Bowling from Burnley died when he fell off Aonach Beag, a mountain near Ben Nevis in the Scottish Highlands.

The 52 year old had been on holiday when it happened on Thursday 5th January.

In a statement, his family say:

"We are all completely heartbroken and in shock over the tragic loss of Mark. He was a loving husband and father who had a great love for the outdoors, mountaineering and photography.

"We are so proud of all he has achieved, we love and will miss him greatly. He leaves behind his wife, four children and his faithful dog."
