Padestrian Dies After Collision With Car in St Annes

An 18-year-old man from St Annes has sadly died after a collision with a car in the town last night.

At around 10:55pm a Vauxhall Astra was being driven along Clifton Drive South. As it has entered the crossroad junction with St Annes Road West, it has collided with the man who was crossing the road.

He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with serious head injuries but sadly died at just after lunchtime today (2 May). His family are being supported by specially trained officers.

The driver of the Astra was treated for shock and no arrests have been made.

Road Policing Sergeant, Adam Dawson said: "This is an extremely sad incident where a young man has lost his life and our thoughts remain with his family and friends at this extemely sad and difficult time.

“The driver is assisting us with our enquiries and we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this.
