Man Hole Cover Blows Off In Street In Accrington
People are being told to avoid the area.
Emergency were called at about 2 o'clock this afternoon to Abbey Street after a loud bang which sent a man hole cover flying into the air.
The nearby pub was evacuated and a 50 metre cordon was put in place.
Electricity supplies to the local petrol station and supermarket were also cut.
Electricity North West Engineers are on scene - they say it was caused by a cable fault.
The area is safe but remains closed whilst an investigation takes place
