The parents of a Blackpool nurse who was murdered by her ex-boyfriend are a step closer in their fight to get the law surrounding stalking changed

John and Penny Clough's daughter Jane was stabbed to death by her jealous and controlling ex Jonathan Vass back in 2010,

Ever since they've been campaigning for a stalker's register - which would work in a similar way to the sex offenders register

They've reached the amount of signatures on a petition needed to take it to government - you can see it here

The Cloughs have also welcomed the recent news that a new law has been introduced to make coercive and controlling behaviour a criminal offence.

They're now campaigning for the law to be properly enforced by judges and magistrates.
