Tributes are being paid to a Chorley man killed during racing at the North West 200 on Saturday.

Tributes are being paid to a Chorley man killed during racing at the North West 200 on Saturday.

No other riders were involved in the incident which prompted organisers to cancel the remainder of the event.

Malachi Mitchell-Thomas crashed his Burrows Engineering Kawasaki on the third lap of the Supertwins race at the International North West 200 yesterday.

The race was immediately red flagged and the 20 year old from Chorley was treated by medical staff but succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

On Facebook his dad Kevin Thomas posted: "My best mates gone"

Kevin visited the scene of the collision this morning where floral tributes had already been left.
