Officers were called to reports of a robbery at the HSBC bank on Station Road in Hesketh Bank at around 9.10am this morning.
Police say the offenders escaped after setting ablaze and abandoning their vehicles.
No staff have been injured.
An investigation has been launched and is in its early stages.
