Prince Charles Appoints Adele MBE

Adele has been appointed an MBE by Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace.

The Prince of Wales has officially presented the singing sensation, Adele, with an MBE. A Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) is presented, by the Royal family, to individuals who are outstanding in their fields and have contributed to the wellbeing of UK citizens.

The 25 year-old singer was given the award at Buckingham Palace earlier today (19th December).

In a statement issued after the ceremony, the singer said: 'It was an honour to be recognised and a very proud moment to be awarded alongside such wonderful and inspirational people. Very posh indeed'.

Adele wore a flared, dark blue patterned dress designed by Stella McCartney to the ceremony and decorated her nails with tiny jewel crowns especially for the royal occasion.

Adele can look forward to adding this award to her collection at home which includes seven Grammy's an Oscar, numerous Brit Awards and even an Academy Award for her music.
