Polling stations have opened in Wakefield, as voters elect new MP

Polling stations have opened in the Wakefield by-election, with voters selecting the constituency's new MP.

Polls are open across the area from 07:00 and will close at 22:00 on Thursday.

Counting will take place overnight, and the winner is expected to be declared in the early hours of Friday morning.
