There are calls for more education around gambling for young people in West Yorkshire.

The charity, GamCare says 54 percent of the people they help are under 35 years old. This is higher than the national average of 51 percent.

18 percent of people accessing gambling support and treatment in Leeds are under 25.

Charlie Pluker from Gamcare said:

"Our annual report from last year also highlights, callers from Yorkshire made up 10% of calls, ranking 3rd, behind the South East and London.

"It's about a lack of education around gambling. We've become very good at educating young people about the dangers of smoking, of alcohol use, of substance use, but we haven't yet seen that for gambling.

"It's all about giving young people the right information, so that they can make more informed decisions around gambling.
