Major fire at West Yorkshire takeaway scaled down

Yesterday’s major fire in Keighley has been scaled down, with a woman and a child taken to hospital with smoke inhalation.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue were called out to a takeaway on North Street, where a blaze spread from a takeaway to the above flats.
They say they believe the fire at 9.20 yesterday morning happened when flames from a cooker spread to an extractor flue.
In a statement last night, the fire service added: "We are still in attendance at an incident in North Street, Keighley where a fire has spread from a takeaway to flats above.
"We were called at 9.20am this morning to the fire and we currently have four crews at the scene. The fire is believed to have been started when flames from a cooker spread to an extractor flue.
"Police and ambulance are in attendance and the flats have been evacuated. Firefighters are using breathing apparatus, hose reels and a triple extension ladder to help extinguish the flames.
"The scene has been closed at the junction of Alice Street and Mornington Street. A woman and child have been taken to hospital with smoke inhalation."
The incident
Crews from across the force at the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called out to the incident.
Appliances rushed to the scene from Keighley, Bingley, Shipley, Stanningley, Morley, Fairweather Green, Illingworth, Bradford, Odsal, Ilkley, Rothwell, Killingbeck, Cleckheaton, Cookridge, Rawdon, and Todmorden.
They were also joined by crew from over the border, in Skipton, and aerial support from Leeds and Huddersfield.
Police and ambulance were also rushed to the scene, and the flats above were evacuated.
