Huddersfield man's family denied entry at Calais border

A man living in Huddersfield is worried and frustrated after his cousin was denied entry at Calais border, due to a website error.
Anastasia is in her 20's, she fled from Western Ukraine, travelling through Poland and Berlin, until reaching Calais where she met her boyfriend.
At the border they were refused entry and when they went to apply, we are told the website didn't work, meaning they now have to travel to Brussels to make the application.
Petro Dorotiak from Huddersfield said:
"If that gets refused where does she go then, what does she do next, she's travelled all that way, to then be refused, and then to not get anywhere, we don't know what will happen, she can't go back, she's very scared because if she doesn't get in, what does she do, she's stuck?
"She's gone with one bag of clothes, to travel that distance with one bag is ridiculous and then to be stuck, is even worse, but there's not a great deal we can do, she's very frustrated and upset.
"She's frustrated because she left her mum, her grandma, her dad, because they wanted her to get out to be safe, so she's worried about them, they're worried about her, so it's just heart-breaking for them all, it really is."
The Home Office said 10,000 applications for refugees to come to the UK via the Ukraine Family Scheme had been submitted since Friday - but that only 500 visas had been issued.
