Extra coronavirus testing is to be rolled out in schools in Bradford, after a rising number in cases of the Indian variant of coronavirus.
People living in the area are being urged to get a PCR test, whether or not they have symptoms.
The district is on a list of 20 coronavirus 'hotspots' across the country, in a new 'third wave' covid watchlist.
The MP for Bradford West, Naz Shah, has released a statement urging people of secondary school age and above who live, work or study in Bradford to take a covid test, regardless if they have symptoms or not.
Naz Shah said:
"I urge everyone who hasn't yet been vaccinated, to get vaccinated. Recent assessments showed the majority of covid-19 patients in Bradford Teaching Hospitals Trust with varying oxygen levels and CPAP were those who had not taken up a vaccine offer."
