Car driven away from Dewsbury house carrying front door

It was lodged in the windscreen and roof.

A driver crashed into the front porch of a house in Dewsbury, and then continued driving with the front door lodged between the windscreen and roof.

West Yorkshire Police were called to Ashworth Road at 7.43pm on Friday.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The silver Audi collided with another vehicle before it hit the house and then continued driving for several metres with the front door attached to the car.

The 18-year-old male driver suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be serious.

Officers are continuing to investigate, and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
