Teenage boy killed in Colchester crash

Police have arrested three people over a collision in the town last night

Three people have been arrested over the death of a teenage boy in a crash in Colchester.

He died in hospital after being hit by a car in the Mersea Road area last night (Saturday 21st September).

Essex Police say they were called to reports of a serious collision involving a car and a pedestrian shortly before 9.20pm.

A road closure was in place for a time overnight, but it was later lifted.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said:

"Our enquiries continue to establish the events prior to the collision, and we would like to speak to anyone who may have information about the incident or have dashcam footage and has not spoken to us yet.

"Please quote incident 1317 of 21 September when providing any information to make sure it gets to the right person as quickly as possible."
