Emergency services in Suffolk have attended two separate light aircraft incidents in the county that have taken place this weekend.

Responders were first called to an incident taking place at the Beccles Aerodrome in Beccles, on the border with Norfolk on Saturday morning (June 29th).

The circumstances surrounding the collision were minimal, with officials from Suffolk Fire and Rescue attending as a precautionary measure.

In total, six crews were sent to the scene, with four people receiving minor injuries following the incident.

Suffolk Police were also called to investigate the issue, according to a spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue service.

A second light aircraft incident was reported to the service on Sunday afternoon (June 30), with the first calls being received at 1:17 p.m.

Fire crews were deployed to Heveningham Hall and when they arrived on the scene, they found a 2-seater aircraft involved in a collision.

The collision saw two people - one man and one woman - being injured in the incident. Emergency services from other areas across Suffolk were also brought in to investigate the issue.

Both victims required medical treatment and were taken to hospital by ambulance. An air ambulance was also called to the scene, but the spokesperson said they were unable to say whether it was done as a precaution.

The spokesperson added that firefighters soon determined there was a low risk to the aircraft catching fire, but monitored the situation.
