A ride at Skegness Pleasure Beach has malfunctioned

People are being rescued after the ride became stuck

Lincolnshire Police say a number of people have been stuck on a ride a Skegness Pleasure Beach after the ride malfunctioned.

Fire and rescue and the ambulance service were called yesterday afternoon.

Around 25 people are thought to have been stranded around 4 metres from the ground.

Crews worked to rescue them.

Two of them were taken to Boston Pilgrim hospital - although it's not thought anyone was seriously hurt.

Staff at the park worked with emergency services to ensure everyone was safe.

The park has confirmed a full investigation into exactly what went wrong is to be carried out.

Today management at Skegness Pleasure beach released a statement.

"Yesterday, unfortunately one of our rides experienced a malfunction."

"We are pleased to report that all riders were safely rescued, thanks to the swift and coordinated efforts of our dedicated staff and the emergency services."

"We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all the emergency services personnel who responded promptly and worked alongside our team to ensure the safety of everyone involved. "

"The safety and well-being of our visitors is our top priority, and we are conducting a full investigation into the cause of the incident. "
