Teenage boy arrested after two injured in stabbings in Gillingham

One of the victims remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital

A teenage boy has been arrested in connection with two stabbings in Gillingham.

Officers were first alerted to an incident taking place in an alleyway between Sunnymead Avenue and Chicago Avenue just before 3:15pm on Friday afternoon (October 25th).

Responders arrived on the scene shortly afterwards, together with the South East Ambulance Service.

Upon getting to the scene, they found two men who had suffered injuries consistent with those of stab wounds.

Both men, whose ages have not been released, were taken to a hospital in London to be treated.

In the wake of the incident, one victim currently remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition, while the second victim has been discharged.

The teenager was arrested later that day by police in connection with the incident and currently remains in police custody.

Speaking on the case, Dectective Inspector Martin Carter from Kent Police said: "Officers are still seeking others who may have been connected with the incident and left the scene prior to the arrival of patrols.

"We are appealing to witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to contact our appeal line.

"We are asking motorists and residents with private CCTV to check for relevant footage that may assist our investigation."
