England narrowly miss out on Euro 2024 title after tense Spain clash
The team took on Spain in the final of the tournament in Berlin

England's football squad has just missed out on winning Euro 2024 in a tense clash against Spain, losing to a final score of 2-1.
The team had managed to make their way into the final after tense games throughout the tournament that nearly saw the Three Lions knocked out.
However, a decisive 2-1 victory against the Netherlands saw England make it to the final against Spain.
This was the first time that England had made it to the final in successive tournaments, and the first to do so on foreign soil.
Amidst the tens of thousands of fans who made their way to the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Prime Minister Sir Kier Starmer was seen, as well as the Prince of Wales and son Prince George.
With the Spanish team predicted to do well in the competition, the English squad went into the match as the underdogs.
However, the team made their presence known quickly as they dominated the ball throughout the course of the game.
The first half of the game saw England take a number of chances to score a goal, including a free kick from Declan Rice that nearly got in the back of the net before being blocked by the Spanish.
While England controlled the ball, Spain's team were quick on their feet and stole other chances of a goal from under the squad.
However, just seconds into the second half of the game, Spain's Nico Williams managed to score a goal, which put England one goal down.
Jude Bellingham almost managed to net a goal for England in the 62nd minute of the match before it went wide.
England were able to clinch a goal to equalise, however, moments after Cole Palmer was brought onto the pitch, much to the joy of England fans that had packed into the stadium.
A second goal was scored by Spain in the 86th minute of the game by Oyarzabal to bring the score to 2-1.
A final shot at the goal launched by Declan Rice was pushed forward, but eventually knocked over the bar with just seconds to go until the end of the game.
This is now England's second loss in the final of the Euros championship in a row, after losing to Italy on penalties in the delayed 2021 tournament.
England's loss now means that the women's team remain the last team to win an international tournament, following the Lionesses victory at the women's Euros in 2022.
