Two women arrested on suspicion of the murder of a man in Cornwall have been released on bail.

The pair - aged in their 50s and 80s - were questioned after a body was found in a car in Helston on Wednesday. They were also accused of concealing a death and preventing a lawful burial.

In the early hours of Wednesday 18th December, police officers were carrying out enquiries in the area of Helston Business Park, following a report of concern for welfare, when they found the body.

A man in his 60s, from the South Somerset area, was confirmed dead at the scene. According to police, the man's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Detective Inspector Neil Blanchard from the Major Crime Investigation Team at Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Detectives are continuing to investigate the death of a man, whose body was located in a car in Helston on Wednesday."

“Two women were arrested in connection to the death and have since been released on police bail while the investigation continues.

“We do believe that all involved parties were known to each other and at this time we are not seeking anyone else in connection to the death.”

If you have any information relevant to the investigation and have not already spoken to police, you can contact them via their website or by calling 101 - quoting log 406 of 17 December.
