Seven people arrested following Cheltenham firearms incidents

The perpetrators took money from the homeowner during the robbery

Police in Gloucestershire have arrested seven people following an armed burglary incident in Cheltenham.

Officers were called to reports of an aggravated burglary taking place at a house on Tennyson Road shortly after 7:25pm on Saturday evening (August 10th).

The homeowner, who was not injured in the incident, was threatened with a firearm and told to give over their money.

A second incident was reported shortly afterwards after a car had been spotted arriving on Moors Avenue, with the homeowners in possession of a firearm.

Armed police arrived at the area and made several arrests at the property, as well as recovering the firearm in connection with the burglaries.

Gloucestershire Police have now confirmed that four men, aged between their 20s and 40s, were arrested on suspicion aggravated burglary.

As well as this, two women and a man, all aged in their 20s, were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All suspects have been detained by police and currently remain in police custody as investigations continue.

In an effort to reassure the local community, police officers from the Cheltenham Neighbourhood Policing Team will be patrolling the area.

Investigators are now appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the burglaries to get in touch as soon as possible.

Enquiries are continuing, with people who have dashcam or doorbell footage of the area around the time of the incidents are being particularly urged to come forward.
